October Pot Luck Dinners
These informal pot luck suppers are for adults only, and are designed for new and existing families to meet their child’s teachers, as well as other parents in the classroom.
Grandfriend’s Day
This semi-annual event occurs in the Fall and in the Spring. Our Sunshine and Pre-Kindergarten children invite a “grandfriend” to visit their classroom and share in the joy of learning and discovery. Tasty treats are shared and crafts are created to top off this special morning!
Fall Fest
In October, families and friends gather to celebrate all that the season has to offer. Games, hay rides, vendors, and so much more make this our most attended event.
Scholastic Book Fair
Each year, the school is transformed into a library of books, games and school supplies offered by the Scholastic company.
Art Show Week
The Sunshine, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes attend art classes beginning in September and culminating in May. Each school year, T’s Restaurant in East Greenwich hosts our annual art show. The children’s art is displayed and is a celebration of their creativity!
Graduation Extravaganza
What school year would be complete without a graduation celebration? In June, we roll out the red carpet to our graduates and their families as we applaud their academic achievement with a special ceremony and, of course festivities.
Each day is considered a special day! It is always something new but always enough that remains the same to provide the security and comfort of familiarity.
Annual School Closures
Sweet Peas Village will be closed for the following holidays – New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Victory Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, October Professional Development Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day & Day After, & the week of Christmas.
Sweet Peas Village will be closed the last Monday of October for a teacher professional development day. Professional development is a critical component of fostering effective teaching and improving learner outcomes. By engaging in ongoing professional growth, teachers can refine their skills, expand their knowledge base, and enhance their ability to meet the needs of the children.
Sweet Peas Village is closed the week of Christmas. Family is the foundation of our Core Values and this time allows our dedicated teachers the opportunity to be with their families and enjoy the holiday season.
